Local Narberth Schoolchildren land private audience with our boys in red!
March 16, 2008
30 lucky Narberth Schoolchildren had the rare opportunity to meet with the Welsh Rugby Team at the Millennium Stadium as the boys trained in advance of the Wales V’s Scotland game last Saturday, 9th February.
Princes Gate Spring Water, Official Sponsor of the WRU and local Narberth-based bottled water manufacturer, were delighted to invite the children along to the Millennium Stadium on the Friday before the game for players ‘Boot Room’. This is a media event organised in advance of any home game, to which Princes Gate and friends are extended exclusive invitation as Official Sponsors. The bottled water manufacturer chose to involve the local schoolchildren in this initiative – beginning with Narberth CP last Friday, and to be repeated with Whitland CP in upcoming home fixtures.
Of the event, Narberth CP student (who incidentally plays junior rugby for Narberth) Shane Rossiter, 9, states: ‘The Stadium was amazing! Watching the team train was fantastic and we were chuffed that the players came over to us – the day was brilliant!’
Edna Davies, Narberth CP Head, added: ‘We knew it was going to be good – but it really did exceed everyone’s expectations. It was truly one of the best school experiences we’ve had.’
Princes Gate Spring Water continue to drive their sponsorship of the WRU forward – which is helped by the phenomenal performance of the team to date in this 2008 Six Nations Championship.
Of the sponsorship, and the ‘Boot Room’ day itself, Princes Gate Spring Water MD David Jones comments: ‘It was wonderful to attend with the children from Narberth CP – it meant so much to them to be involved, and so I couldn’t think of better guests to invite on such an expedition. We’re thrilled to be able to raise awareness of our sponsorship of the WRU in such a meaningful, community-orientated way.’
This is the latest of local and Welsh initiatives for Princes Gate Spring Water, a manufacturer committed to the support and drive of Welsh organisations. The company is also Official Champion for Children for Noah’s Ark Appeal, the Wales based Children’s charity.
